Adds terminal.showTerminalProgress setting (default false) and wires it
to /settings. Guards all OSC 9;4 setProgress calls in interactive-mode.

Users can now set sessionDir in global or project settings.json instead
of passing --session-dir on every invocation. CLI flag takes precedence,
then settings.json, then extension hooks.

Add manual retry loop (10 attempts, 20ms delay) around lockfile.lockSync()
in FileAuthStorageBackend and FileSettingsStorage. Previously, concurrent
pi processes would fail immediately on ELOCKED, causing auth.json to load
as empty and surfacing misleading 'No API key found' errors.

Add configurable initial filter mode for the session tree navigator.
Users who always switch to a specific filter (e.g. no-tools via Ctrl+T)
can now set it as default in settings.
Same pattern as doubleEscapeAction (#404). Filter infra from #747.
When enabled, /tree navigation skips the 'Summarize branch?' prompt and
defaults to no summary, reducing friction for users who never want branch
summaries.

When a provider (e.g., Google Gemini CLI) requests a retry delay longer
than maxDelayMs (default: 60s), the request fails immediately with an
informative error instead of waiting silently for hours.
The error is then handled by agent-level auto-retry, which shows the
delay to the user and allows aborting with Escape.

Add markdown.codeBlockIndent setting to customize indentation prefix for
rendered code blocks. Default remains 2 spaces for visual clarity, but
setting to empty string removes indentation for easier copy/paste of
code snippets to scripts, editors, or other tools.

When 429/500 errors occur during tool execution, empty assistant messages
with stopReason='error' get persisted. These break the tool_use -> tool_result
chain for Claude/Gemini APIs.
Added centralized filtering in transformMessages to skip assistant messages
with empty content and no tool calls. Provider-level filters remain for
defense-in-depth.

When a user edits settings.json while pi is running (e.g., adding
enabledModels), those settings would be lost when pi saved other
changes (e.g., changing thinking level via Shift+Tab).
The fix re-reads the file before saving and merges the current file
contents with in-memory changes, so external edits are preserved.
Adds test coverage for SettingsManager.
- Setting controls filtering at convertToLlm layer (defense-in-depth)
- Images are always stored in session, filtered dynamically based on current setting
- Toggle mid-session works: LLM sees/doesn't see images already in session
- Fixed SettingsManager.save() to handle inMemory mode for all setters
